1. Why should I buy leather?
Leather is one of the most durable and comfortable upholstery materials in existence. Not only does its natural strength withstand the rigors of repeated use, but also it is also very cleanable and has the unique ability to conduct body heat and moisture just like our own skin. Leather is more durable than fabric or upholstry. It is so thick that you will never get dust mites in your leather furniture because they can not get food or water through the leather, therefore, they can not live in leather furniture. This is an excellent choice for those who have allergy problems.

2. What are the natural characteristics of leather?
Leather is a product of nature, so each hide has unique markings and a character all its own due to variance in shade, grain patterns and textures. No two hides are alike. Some distinctive marks such as abrasions, healed scars and barbed wire marks are acquired thoughout the life of the animal and are considered hallmarks of a quality leather product.

3. What kind of leather is right for me?
Our leathers vary in degree of durability according the the grade of the hide. Our grades 1, 2, and 3 have a protective coating on the leather and can be more child-friendly, scratch resistant, and pet-friendly than the higher grade leathers, depending on your personal wear and tear. Leather Designs staff can recommend the right leather for you and your situation. Grade 1, 2, and 3 hides are lightly corrected to provide consistent color and texture from hide to hide. An applied finish coat to the surface serves as a protection against stains and spills. Grade 4, 5, & 6 leathers are thicker, softer, and carry a heavier leather aroma. They warm up very quickly with your body heat, and stay cooler in the summer.
